NAMM Show Notes

This year, thanks to JC Dwyer of Megatrax Studios, I was able to attend the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.  It is hard to find words to describe such an awesome experience.  Think coliseum, stack it on top of itself 4 times and fill it with guitars, drums, amps, keyboards, software, gear, way too expensive food and world class musicians from all over the world and you might get a small idea.  Highlights were seeing Stevie Wonder (but I can't prove it to ANYONE since I couldn't whip out my camera phone fast enough) and Bono of U2, which I can prove, only it's my son who got the privilege of standing in the photo, not me.  I had way too much fun hanging out with Mordy Ferber, JC Dwyer, Rickard Malmsten, Tony Shibumi, Aaron T and more.

It seems I'm always finding myself hanging out with the boys (where I feel most comfortable).  All I can say is thanks to my brother and all his friends growing up who thought I was way "cool"  and always let me tag along.  They used to set up "boxing" matches for me on our elementary school playground 'cause Barbie's were not my bag, man.  I just wanted to run, ride my bike, climb trees, build forts and be faster than all the boys.  And, I almost always won.  To JC, Mordy, Rickard, Tony and Aaron T., all I can say is thanks for being great to my son, who tells me he wants to be my next guitar player.  Next year, I'm getting a room, man!  My feet are still tired!

New Year Resolutions

Well, I have started 2007 with a bang which sums up my entire New Years Resolutions.  I don't really like making them other than the fact that they motivate me to put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.  I started off the year with a show at "It's A Grind" in Castaic, CA.  I had so much fun and as the first public listening of many of the new songs I've written for my upcoming album, I was overwhelmed at such a warm reception.  A huge thank you from my heart goes out to the owner, Rick, who kept bringing in chairs from the patio as the place became standing room only.  To all who were in attendance, thank you so much for being there and for your response.  Next time I'll be prepared for an Encore!
